The membership in Morning View Aviation is categorized in two parts:
Provisional / Student Membership:
Intended for a student pilot or for a licensed pilot interested in obtaining a high performance endorsement in a club airplane, or a flight review in a club airplane. A provisional membership may be upgraded to a flyMVA membership at any time. The Provisional member always flys with a Club approved CFI unless authorized for solo flight as part of the student's training.
Why choose Provisional as a student pilot? - it's possible you haven't received your medical yet or that you want to really be sure you're interested through a few flights prior to investing in the Club... a Provisional membership is for you, and you can upgrade to flyMVA at anytime you're ready.
flyMVA Membership:
Intended for both student and seasoned pilot's. The goal of flyMVA is to provide reasonable rental rates and availability for meticulously maintained aircraft to a limited number of club members. Those club members are those that are interested in the investment, (yes, that means fees and dues), that go directly to maintaining and operating the club and its aircraft for the opportunity to share the aircraft with a limited number of other like minded aviators... without all the costs of ownership. With a fixed annual fee spread amongst the members(for things like insurance, annual inspections, GPS subscriptions) and monthly dues (for things like aircraft lease, hangar rental, training space rental), the more you fly per month, the lower the effective hourly cost of flying will become due to the fixed costs being separated from the hourly operational costs. The hourly costs include things like (fuel, oil, 100-hour inspection, oil changes, and hourly based maintenance reserves).
How to join?
Complete the application on the membership page. We'll then discuss your goals and get you scheduled for your Introductory flight including up to 1/2 hour of ground and a 1 hour flight. The flight will also include a logbook entry in a logbook provided with your membership. From there, we'll establish a training plan, discuss your "to-do's", we'll review the requirements and costs of becoming a pilot (we'll also talk about the wonderful benefits it has), and we'll be on our way to creating a new pilot.
If you're already a pilot, schedule an introductory flight to review the airplane and operational rules and we'll get you up in the air in a great airplane.
Introductory Flight and Membership Application Fees:
The fee for both the Introductory Flight and the Membership Application Fee is $150, however, they are linked together:
If you purchase an Introductory Flight, the cost covers your membership application fee if you decide to join.
If you go straight to a flyMVA membership, the membership fee includes the Introductory Flight.
